Lundy is recognised as an ecologically sensitive area with designations such as a SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), Nature Conservation Zone and an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. As a result, we apply sensitive and sympathetic management practices which also apply to the island farm and its livestock.

The lambs in our managed flock of sheep are born and reared on the island without the pressures of modern intensive methods, on a diet of their mother's milk and pastures of traditional grasses and herbs such as yarrow, vetches, meddick and clover which all improves the taste. They grow naturally with no growth promoters or artificial additives, and because the flock has been established for many years and the lambs are born on the island there is complete traceability, we can therefore guarantee they are indeed Lundy Lambs.
